Development

The game was developed by Mattel, in partnership with Stranger Entertainment LLC.[2] with art direction by Scott Robertson.[1]

Internationally, cards were released with textless versions, only showcasing the art.[1]

Special Feature

A 6 minute instructional promo video, animated by Mainframe Entertainment, was released and featured in Acceleracers DVDs as a Special Feature. Mitchell "Monkey" McClurg and RD-S1 are shown dueling each other, with narration by Dr. Peter Tezla detailing the rules.

Trivia

  • For some reason, the visuals of the special feature seem more advanced compared to the movies, such as the stronger reflections in Tezla‘s exosuit. The shorter animation length and earlier production compared to the movies could be explanations to this.
  • The game rules booklet showcases art of Hollowback and Synkro racing each other. The Synkro is shown with a much more orange color, rather than the gold shown in the movies. This parallels the die-cast version, with a similar difference.
