Esmeralda Sanchez is a racer for the Road Beasts and a friend of Banjee Castillo. Esmeralda is described as a fast/aggressive driver, asset and rival to Banjee and that "her attitude is a liability".

She is a slim, tall, fair-skinned Hispanic woman with short, red hair and a Road beasts uniform.
In the comic, there is a panel where she wears a green swimsuit with a flower in her hair. Her comic appearance notably has longer black hair although her design in the cover art has mid-length brown hair.

- As one of the few girls driving in the World Race, Esmeralda has something to prove! She drives her cars fast and aggressively, and she's just as good on the pavement as she is cross-country. That makes her an asset to the Road Beasts team, but her attitude can be a liability, as we shall see - Comic 21/35

- One of Esmeralda's famous quotes is "I like my guava juice imported.”
- According to Jeff Gomez, she was to have a larger role in the movie which was later cut due to time constraints.
- In the comic's cover, her hair is brown/red. However, within the comic panels themselves, it is black.
- In her comic, Esmeralda nearly becomes leader of the Road Beasts after Banjee challenges her to a race, but she is crashed into by Twin Mill. It is implied that Banjee told Pete to do this so he could take the win.
- Although her nationality is not stated anywhere, her Hispanic name coupled with her Southern accent could indicate she is somewhere from the American south, such as Texas.
