For other Nitrox canisters, see Nitrox (disambiguation). Nitrox 2 is a boost formula created by Dr. Tezla that accelerates the vehicle to over 300mph (480km/h). It is the tool that allows racers to open and enter the portal to Highway 35.

World Race[]
In the World Race, every car was installed with Nitrox 2 which was needed to pass through the portals. Zed-36 modifies one of the canisters to cause them to explode, destroying part of the track and lava to flow over it. Lani was almost killed when her car got stuck in the lava, but was narrowly rescued by Taro and Vert.
In the second leg of the race, Markie Wylde's Corvette collides with a giant spinning wheel in the middle of a long jump. The collision knocks a full Nitrox 2 tank beneath Wylde's car off, and, lodged in the wheel, catches fire and explodes. The explosion destroys part of the wheel and causes it to spin faster, before eventually completely self-destructing.
Since no vehicle in the World Race can reach 300mph by itself, Nitrox 2 is required to open and enter the portal. At the start of the final leg of the World Race, Street Breeds' Toño ran out of Nitrox. As a result his car did not have enough speed to enter the portal, which spawned off of a cliff. Toño's car falls into the ocean, rendering Toño unable to start the race.
Acceleracers[]
In Acceleracers, it is also used on Teku cars for the Jump Jets. Monkey modifies this formula to create Nitrox 3 1/2. The design of the canisters was also changed between World Race and Acceleracers, swapping the chemical bottle shape used in the World Race in favor of a more traditional cylindrical canister shape.
